Dash by the Past
Dash by the Past is a community running and walking event held in Indianapolis. The route features a scenic course along Meridian Street, a historic thoroughfare that is closed to all vehicle traffic for the duration of the event. Participants pass by various previous Decorators’ Show House and Gardens homes. The race begins and ends at the Meridian Restaurant & Bar, located at 5694 N. Meridian Street.
The event offers several distances and categories for different age groups:
- 5K Run/Walk (Adult and Kids ages 5-12)
- 1 Mile Walk (Adult and Kids ages 5-12)
Each registered participant receives a t-shirt, with both adult and youth sizes available. Competitive awards are presented to the first, second, and third-place male and female finishers. Children between the ages of 0 and 4 may participate without the requirement of official registration.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the St. Margaret's Hospital Guild. Proceeds support the Gregory S. Fehribach Center at Eskenazi Health, an organization that provides internships, resources, and support for college students with physical disabilities to promote employment equity.
