Dash Around the Point 5k & 10k
The Dash Around the Point is a chip timed running event held at Hains Point in Washington, DC on February 22, 2026. Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series and toward the Winter Series.
The course follows a paved road around Hains Point alongside the river. The route is described as flat and offers sweeping views of the Potomac River, the Wharf, and frequent plane sightings from National Airport. The 5 km is an out-and-back once and the 10 km is two loops of the same route. The published Back of the Pack pace time for this course is 11:00.

Runners receive a finisher’s coin, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. A virtual race option is available. Walkers and strollers are welcome. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before February 11; additional shirts are available on a first-come, first-served basis after that date.
Support and logistics include live race results and a QR code at the race, multiple water stations (five on the 10 km, two on the 5 km) with Gatorade available at some stations, portable restrooms near the start and finish, and packet pickup at Road Runner Sports on February 21 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
