Event overview
The Dash Around the Point is a 5k and 10k running event on February 22, 2026, held at Hains Point, Ohio Dr SW, Washington, DC. Distances offered:

Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
Course and logistics
The course runs on a paved road around Hains Point alongside the river. The route is described as flat and offers views of the Potomac River, the Wharf, and plane sightings from National Airport. The 5k is an out-and-back once; the 10k is the same loop run twice. Back of the Pack (BOTP) pace time for this course is 11:00; BOTP is a series for runners who average higher than the listed pace.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations before February 11; extras are ordered after that on a first-come, first-served basis. Water stations: five along the 10k at approximately miles 1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, and 5.2; two on the 5k at about miles 1 and 2.1. Packet pickup is available at the event; there will be no on-site race registration. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
