Dash Around the Point 5k and 10k
The event is a road race held at Hains Point in Washington, DC, offering 5 km and 10 km distances. The routes follow a paved road around Hains Point alongside the river and offer sweeping views of the Potomac River, the Wharf, and plane activity from National Airport. The 5 km is an out-and-back once; the 10 km completes the same out-and-back twice. The course is described as flat and suited to faster times.
Points earned at this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
Runners receive a finisher’s coin, a technical Dri-Fit event shirt, and the race is chip timed. The event benefits Team RWB DC. Live results are posted on Athlinks and a QR code at the event provides immediate access; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Runner tracking via SMS is available during registration.
Support and logistics include water stations along the courses (five on the 10 km at approximate mile markers 1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, and 5.2; two on the 5 km at about mile markers 1 and 2.1), some stations offering Gatorade, and port-a-johns near the start/finish. Packet pickup is available at Road Runner Sports and also at the event. There is no on-site race registration. Organizers may delay, change, or postpone the event for weather.
