Daring the Blaze 5K Run/Walk - 10th Annual
The event is the tenth annual neighborhood 5K, a 3.1-mile foot race held in Dares Beach on June 27, 2026. The course begins and finishes at the Dares Beach green at Dares Beach Road and Macrae Avenue in Prince Frederick, MD 20678. The event supports the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department.
Both live and virtual participation options are offered. Standard fees until Friday, 06/26/2026 are $20 for participants 13 and older and free for participants 12 and under. T-shirt options are available until 06/10/2026 at $35 for participants 13 and older and $15 for participants 12 and under. Day-of registration applies to the live race only and is $25 for participants 13 and older while participants 12 and under remain free.
The race will be professionally timed by K2 Race Management and Timing Services. The live event includes awards, course and age group records, and post-race snacks with water and sports drinks.
Awards recognize top finishers and age group performance. Prizes include top three overall male and female, top overall masters male and female (age 40 and over), top Dares Beach male resident and female resident, and top three in these age groups: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and up.
