10th Annual Daring the Blaze 5K Run/Walk
The event is the tenth edition of a neighborhood foot race in Dares Beach, presented as a 5K (3.1-mile) run and walk that benefits the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department. The race takes place on June 27, 2026, at the Dares Beach green, located at Dares Beach Road & Macrae Avenue, Prince Frederick, MD 20678. Both live and virtual participation options are offered.
Registration fees and options include an entry fee of $20 for participants 13 and older through June 26, 2026, and free entry for participants 12 and under through June 26, 2026. T-shirt options are available with separate pricing through June 10, 2026: $35 for participants 13 and older with a shirt, and $15 for participants 12 and under with a shirt. Day of registration for the live race is $25 for participants 13 and older; day of registration remains free for participants 12 and under.
Race timing is provided by K2 Race Management and Timing Services. The live event includes awards, course and age group records, and post race snacks with water and sports drinks. Awards recognize the top three overall male and female finishers, top overall Masters male and female (age 40 and over), top Dares Beach male and female residents, and top three finishers in the age groups 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and up.
