Danvers Police D.A.R.E. 5K Road Race

The Danvers Police Department holds its annual D.A.R.E. 5K Road Race at Danvers High School, located at 60 Cabot Road in Danvers, Massachusetts. This community athletic event is organized to support the local Drug Abuse Resistance Education program. The event features two primary distances for participants:

  • 5 km running race
  • 0.3 Miles kids run

The long-distance course is open to both runners and walkers. All proceeds from the registration fees and donations are directed toward the Danvers Police Department’s D.A.R.E. initiative. This prevention program is a collaborative effort involving police officers, educators, parents, and community leaders.

The curriculum supported by this race focuses on providing students with essential life skills. Key areas of the program include teaching youth how to manage peer pressure, address bullying, handle stress, and develop problem-solving abilities. Additionally, the funds generated from the event facilitate community programs that foster positive interactions between local youth and law enforcement officers.
