Dalby's Inferno - Dalby Forest, 6 June 2026
Dalby's Inferno is a backyard-style ultramarathon returning for its sixth year. The event is based in Dalby Forest and comprises ten forest loops of 5.5 km each, a total of 55 km. Runners have one hour to complete each lap; if a runner completes a lap they may attempt the next one, and if they fail they may rejoin on a later lap up to and including the ninth. Completing nine laps grants entry to the tenth. Last year over 80% of runners completed all ten laps. The event raises funds for the Scarborough & Ryedale Mountain Rescue team.
The entry fee is £60 and includes free entry to Dalby Forest and two nights' camping on the Friday and Saturday in the Adderstone field. Camping is in the same location as the start and finish; toilets and fresh water are provided at the site but there are no showers. Hard standing is available for campervans. An area at the start/finish is provided for rest and refuelling between laps and supporters may attend and camp. The route will not be published before the day but will be fully signed and marshalled. Hot food and drinks and fresh water will be available. Minimum age is 16. No dogs are allowed on the run; well controlled dogs may camp. There are no deferrals or refunds and entries are currently full. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
