Event Details
The D-Day 10K Run and Memorial Walk at Camp Toccoa at Currahee takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The location is Camp Toccoa at Currahee on Ayersville Road in Toccoa, Georgia.
Two events are offered: a timed 10K run and an untimed Memorial Walk. Both events begin together. Participants in the walk may choose any distance up Currahee Mountain before turning back.
Course
The start is on Ayersville Road near the camp entrance. The route proceeds to Patterson Pump, turns around, and enters Camp Toccoa. Participants run past the barracks, exit the property to the mountain, and run to the top of Currahee Mountain. At the top, runners and walkers turn around at a fence and return to the finish line. The course follows paths used by soldiers who trained there during World War II.
The finish line will close at 10:30 AM.
Registration and Proceeds
Registration for the 10K run is $35, increasing to $40 after May 18, 2026. Registration for the Memorial Walk is also $35, increasing to $40 after the same date. A t-shirt is guaranteed for registrations received by May 18, 2026.
All proceeds from the events support the Camp Toccoa at Currahee Project, which works to preserve the site's historical legacy.
Additional Information
Awards are presented only to 10K finishers. Categories include overall male/female, overall masters male/female, and the top three male/female finishers in standard age groups from 10 & Under to 80 & Over.
The event is part of the Black Bag Race Series. Finish line management is provided by Classic Race Services. The event proceeds regardless of rain, though the start may be delayed in 15-minute increments in case of storms. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
