K's For Canines 5K and 3K
The K's For Canines event returns for its sixth year to Clarkesville, Georgia. This athletic gathering serves as a fundraiser for Evelyn's Place Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter located in Gainesville, Georgia. Participants have the option to compete in person at Sam Pitts Creek or join via virtual race formats.
The event offers several individual distances and a combined challenge for participants:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 3K (1.875 miles)
- 5K and 3K Challenge (4.975 miles)
Well-mannered and leashed dogs are permitted to participate alongside runners. The races are recognized as part of the AAA Health Series, the Black Bag Series, and the Clover Glove Series.
For the in-person 5K, a commemorative T-shirt is included for those who complete their registration by the specific early deadline of June 1, 2025. Other registration categories, including the 3K and all virtual options, do not include a shirt. The event takes place regardless of weather conditions, operating on a rain or shine basis.
