CVRR Backyard Ultra 2026
The 7th annual CVRR Backyard Ultra is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds in Courtenay, BC (4839 Headquarters Rd). The course runs through forests and fields on the exhibition grounds.
The format is a marked loop of 6.706 km. Every hour, exactly on the hour, runners start the loop and begin each subsequent lap at the top of the next hour. Participants continue this pattern until they are no longer willing or able to continue.
For 2026 a maximum of 30 yards / 30 hours is imposed for all runners. There is only one finisher. If more than one runner crosses the line after completing 30 yards, the finisher will be determined by a tie-breaking Mystery Challenge at the Start-Finish area.
A team category is offered for teams of three to five people. Team members start together but run individually; the team's total yards are the sum of its members' laps. Prizes are listed for the most yards by a team, best costumes, and special team draw prizes.
Camping is available on-site for Friday and for Saturday night. Water and electricity are included in the camping fee. The camping fee shown is CA$39.66. The camping fee is not required for a participant's personal support station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
