Comox Valley RV Half Marathon
The Comox Valley RV Half Marathon is a BC Athletics certified out-and-back half marathon held in Courtenay, BC at the Florence Filberg Centre. The race uses a rural country road course with views of Mount Washington, Forbidden Plateau, and the Tsolum and Puntledge Rivers.
The course climbs during the first half and descends on the return, a profile that often produces significant negative splits and fast finishing times. The event is limited to 1100 entrants. Organized by the Comox Valley Road Runners, more than 100 volunteers support the event in the months before and on race day.
Post-race offerings include abundant food, awards, and many draw prizes. The race has a long history, beginning in 1986 as a 20 kilometre event and changing to the current 21.1 km half marathon distance in 1995. A number of national and provincial records have been set on this course.
Entry fees listed for the event include an early registration fee of $40 and a standard registration fee of $50. Title sponsorship for the event is provided by Comox Valley RV. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
