Old West Trail Runs
Old West Trail Runs offers three trail distances through Anza Borrego Desert State Park on March 13, 2027. The event begins at Stagecoach Trails RV Resort & Campground and includes on-site camping and lodging options. Registration opens October 1, 2026.
Distances:
- 50K approximately 31.1 miles
- Marathon approximately 26.2 miles
- Half Marathon approximately 13.1 miles
The 50K and marathon courses each have about 2,555 feet of total elevation gain and loss. The half marathon has about 670 feet of elevation gain and loss. Full aid stations are located at Stagecoach Saddle, Blair Valley, and Pinyon Canyon and offer water, sport drinks, ice, snacks, sandwiches, fruit, and electrolyte capsules. Crews, friends, and family are permitted on course only at Blair Valley and Plum Canyon.
The campground lists over 200 campsites with full hookups, restrooms, hot showers, picnic tables, fire rings, and free Wi-Fi. Dogs are allowed in camp but are not permitted on state park trails. All participants receive a technical shirt and finishers receive medals. Volunteers support course marking, aid stations, radio operations, and other race services. The trails used for the event are maintained by volunteer trail crews. Old West Trail Runs is a qualifying event in the SoCal Ultra Series.
