Cupid's Chase 5K Rutherford takes place on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Memorial Park, 2 Darwin Avenue, Rutherford, NJ. The local event is part of a national race series that marks the founding of Community Options. Last year, over 11,000 runners joined the series nationwide. The Rutherford edition is the 18th annual race and welcomes runners, walkers, participants with baby strollers or wheelchairs, and sponsors.
Race details
The event features a 5K certified course with professional timing and immediate posting of results. The event is fully accessible and pet-friendly; all pets must remain on a leash. Giveaways include a Cupid's Chase finisher medal and a drawstring bag while supplies last. To guarantee a race shirt, registration must be completed by January 1, 2026; shirts are available afterward while supplies last. Trophies will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers. Age group medals will be awarded to the top male and female finishers in these 14 groups: 12 & under; 13–15; 16–19; 20–24; 25–29; 30–34; 35–39; 40–44; 45–49; 50–54; 55–59; 60–64; 65–69; and 70 & over. The event is held rain or shine and all registration fees are non-refundable.

The event benefits Community Options, Inc., an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in 1989 and headquartered in Princeton, NJ, which provides housing and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Sponsorship opportunities are offered at levels ranging from $500 to $10,000, including Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Exhibitor Table options.
