About the race
FEAR Trail Fest is a trail race held on November 22, 2026, in Lewis Morris Park in Morristown, New Jersey, at Sunrise Lake Drive. The event is a 5 mile lollipop loop that runs mostly on the park’s Yellow Trail with an opening section on crushed gravel along the Patriots Path and a return on a short section of the Patriots Path.
The course includes single track, rocks, roots, and multiple climbs totaling about 600 feet of elevation gain. Course distance is measured by Garmin GPS watch and is not an officially measured course, so individual devices may show varying distances.
Field size is limited to 120 runners. The event has a 2.5 hour time limit and welcomes hikers. Registration opens March 18, 2026, closes September 1, 2026, and the registration fee is $50. There are no refunds at this time; participants may consider race insurance.
Organizers will host free course previews on dates to be determined that aim to familiarize participants with the route and basic trail running information. Event sustainability measures include a cupless aid approach using reusable cups provided by Hydrapak and hemp race bibs instead of PVC bibs.
Prizes and giveaways include awards for top finishers by gender and non binary category, raffles and donated items from multiple partners, and a finisher medal for all participants in 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
