Cudahy Classic
The Cudahy Classic is a summer running event organized by the Badgerland Striders at Sheridan Park in Cudahy, Wisconsin. The course offers views of Lake Michigan and downtown Milwaukee and begins with a cross-country style start that leads runners onto the Oak Leaf Trail.
Distances include:
- 10 Mile Run - two loops of the five-mile course
- 5 Mile Run - a single loop through Sheridan Park and along the Oak Leaf Trail
- 1 Mile Children's Race
The five-mile course runs north and south through the park and along the trail. The ten-mile event uses the same loop twice and is described as mostly flat. The ten-mile race also serves as the RRCA Wisconsin 10-mile State Championship, with awards for first male and first female in the Open, 40+, 50+ and 60+ divisions; a $50 cash prize is listed for each of these winners. Standard age group awards are posted for top overall finishers and top finishers in age brackets.
Online registration opens March 17. Fees noted by the organizer are $45 for the 5 mile and 10 mile events and $1 for the children's race. A higher fee applies for on-site race day registration and a $5 member discount is available. Water and Gatorade aid stations are located at specific mile markers, and Gatorade is the event's exclusive sports beverage. The event partners with a local non-profit group to provide freshly cooked sausage at the finish; additional sausages are available for purchase.
