Milwaukee Turkey Trot 5K & 8K
The Milwaukee Turkey Trot is a chip timed 5K and 8K held on Thanksgiving morning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The event uses McKinley / Veterans Park as the start and finish location and includes kids dash and multiple fun run categories. The run is part of the Run Wisconsin Race Series and also participates in the nationwide Thankful Turkey leaderboard.
Participants can choose apparel from the commemorative event gear options, which have included a long sleeve t-shirt or a fleece pullover. Packets may be mailed to participants for an extra fee or picked up before the event at designated pre-event locations, including Performance Running Outfitters in Brookfield. Mailed race packets typically arrive several days before race day; post-race mailing of unclaimed gear is subject to a fee.
Course support includes water at all water stations. There is no gear check at the event site. The race permits runners and walkers; strollers are allowed for walkers and joggers only with a guardian waiver, and dogs are not permitted. Time limits are posted for each distance. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall; participants must be present on event day to receive medals.
