Turkey Trot 5K - Racine
The Turkey Trot 5K in Racine takes place on Thanksgiving Day, starting and finishing at Festival Park / Rotary Park on the Lake Michigan lakefront. The course runs along the Lake Michigan Pathway and passes North Beach and the River Walk on an ADA-compliant path that offers multiple waterfront overlooks and seating areas. Parking is available on site, including a city parking ramp.
Registration options include recreational and competitive entries, same-day registration, a social share discount, referral credits, and fundraising paths that can earn free entry. All registered 5K participants receive a finisher medal, a commemorative race bib, and a T-shirt; an optional performance T-shirt is available for an additional fee. The event provides food and water at the finish and issues commemorative certificates. The 5K is chip-timed with a chip start; overall awards are based on gun start while age category awards are based on chip start. The top three overall men and women receive Danish Kringle at the finish.
The event supports local charities and encourages food donations for the Racine County food bank, with requested items including canned fruit, peanut butter, tuna, beef stew, instant potatoes, and fruit juice. Packet pickup is available the day before at Festival Hall and on race day at the venue. Participants must wear shoe tags and visible race bibs for timing; missing or improperly worn tags may result in disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
