Crush Cancer Lobster Crawl 5K - Jonesboro, ME
The Crush Cancer Lobster Crawl is a charity running event held on July 11 at the Municipal Landing on Evergreen Point Road in Jonesboro, Maine. The event includes a live 5K walk/run, a Kids Dash, and a Virtual 5K; proceeds, after expenses, are donated to local nonprofits including Sarah's House of Maine and the Christine B Foundation and the event is hosted by Jonesboro Grange #357.
The 5K course is an out and back route on a dead-end road with scenic views of the Chandler River. The Kids Dash is also an out and back on a dead-end road; it is an untimed event capped at 50 participants. Kids who participate receive a bib, a medal, and a cotton shirt; registering before June 13 guarantees a shirt. Virtual participants receive mailed packets after the live event.
Awards for the 5K include overall 1st through 3rd place for male and female divisions and age-group awards (1st through 3rd, male and female) across age groups from 14 and younger through 90+. Race packets must be picked up prior to the conclusion of the event on July 11; unclaimed packets will be donated. The event is organized by volunteers, is held rain or shine, and does not offer refunds or bib transfers. Fundraising recognition and poster submissions for honoring loved ones are part of the event program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
