Cruel Jewel 50 : event overview
Cruel Jewel 50 is a point to point 57.5 mile trail race held within the Chattahoochee National Forest in the North Georgia Mountains. The route runs from Blairsville to Blue Ridge, Georgia, with the listed finish location at 236 Camp Morganton Rd.
The course is composed of 50 miles of trails and 7.5 miles of mountain roads. It includes technical single track sections, steep ascents and steeper descents, ridge lines, rocks and roots, ferns and old growth poplar trees, and a historic steel bridge that spans the Toccoa River. A section called the Dragon's Spine and stretches of hardwood forest are noted along the route. The course layout includes ten aid stations and totals more than 17,000 feet of elevation gain and about 17,000 feet of elevation loss.
Live tracking and bib numbers will be loaded and published the week of the race. The race packet will be available no later than two weeks before the event.
