Cruel Jewel 50 is presented as a point-to-point trail race of 57.5 miles in the Chattahoochee National Forest in the North Georgia Mountains. The course runs from Blairsville to Blue Ridge, Georgia, with the listed finish location at 236 Camp Morganton Rd in Blue Ridge. The event includes ten aid stations along the route. Organizers state they do not anticipate major changes from the 2025 edition.
Course and logistics
The course comprises 50 miles of trails and 7.5 miles of mountain roads. Terrain features include single-track trails, steep ascents and descents, technical sections with rocks and roots, ridge lines, ferns, old growth poplar trees, and an historic steel bridge spanning the Toccoa River known as the Dragon's Spine. Elevation change exceeds 17,000 feet of gain and 17,000 feet of loss. Live tracking and bib numbers are scheduled to be published the week of the race, and the race packet will be available no later than two weeks before the event.
