Course Details
The Cruel Jewel 100 is a 104-mile foot race through the Chattahoochee National Forest in the North Georgia Mountains. The course consists of 94 miles of trails and 12 miles of mountain roads. Runners traverse from Blue Ridge to Blairsville and back, encountering single-track trails, an historic steel bridge over the Toccoa River, the Dragon's Spine ridge line, and sections with ferns and old-growth poplar trees. The total elevation change is roughly 33,000 feet of ascent and 33,000 feet of descent.
Event Information
The race has a 48-hour time limit and features 20 aid stations. It is a qualifying race for the 2027 Western States and Hardrock 100 lotteries. The event is limited to 250 participants. The start and finish location is Camp Morganton in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
Participation Requirements
Entry requires a qualification. Runners must have completed any 100-mile trail run. Alternatively, a finish in specific 50-mile races under designated time limits also qualifies. All participants must check in at every aid station. Pacers are allowed from the turn-around point or any subsequent crew-accessible aid station, with only one pacer permitted at a time.
