Turkey Burner 5K
Turkey Burner 5K is a community run and walk held on Thanksgiving morning, 11/26/2026, around Hinckley Lake in Hinckley, Ohio. The start and finish are at the South Ball Field parking lot (1920 East Dr). The course follows the paved path around the lake in a counterclockwise direction.
The event includes in-person and virtual options and multiple distances:
- 5K in-person run and walk
- 1 Mile fun run and walk option
- 5K virtual option with mailed shirt and medal
Registration opens 11/27/2025. In-person registrations close in late August 2026 (individual event close dates differ) and the virtual option remains open through 11/26/2026. In-person entry fees are $30 and the virtual entry fee is $40. Early packet pickup is scheduled for 11/25 at 2425 Medina Rd, Medina.
Parking is limited and registration is capped at 1200. The main Spillway (910 Bellus Rd) and the Sledding Hill (State Rd) areas provide the largest parking areas within walking distance of the start area.
The event is hosted by Running2bWell, a Northeast Ohio nonprofit that uses exercise and community to support people working through addiction and mental health challenges; participation supports programs provided at no cost to participants. All participants receive a custom long-sleeved shirt and a medal. Fundraising incentives include an entry refund at $100 raised and additional rewards at $200 raised; the top 10 fundraisers (minimum $200) receive a $100 Fleet Feet gift card valid through 1/31/27. Age group winners receive custom winter hats for the following groups: <10, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
