Event Overview
The Cross Keys Runway 5K takes place at the Cross Keys Airport in Williamstown, New Jersey. Organized by the EAA New Jersey Chapter 216, the event serves as a fundraiser to support the annual flight training scholarship and other chapter initiatives. Participants have the opportunity to traverse the airport grounds in an environment typically reserved for aviation activities.
Distances and Participation
The event offers two main participation options:
- 5K Run: A 3.1 mile running race.
- 1M Walk: A walking specific event.
The walking category is separate from the running race. Registration for these events opens in early August. Participants who register by November 4th have the option to upgrade their registration to include a commemorative t-shirt. Additionally, the first 25 individuals to register receive a commemorative aviation pin, which is also available for purchase on the day of the event.
Recognition and Awards
The event recognizes top finishers in the 5K Run. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female participants. Furthermore, the top three male and female finishers in various age categories receive recognition. These categories include participants under 15, those aged 15-19, and subsequent age groups in 10-year increments up to 60 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
