Event overview
The 3rd Annual Shamong Turkey Trot takes place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 295 Indian Mills Road, Shamong, NJ 08088. The event includes these distances:
- 5K Run
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
Entry fees are listed as $25 for the 5K and $15 for the 1 Mile. Children aged 3 and under are free. Registration closes on November 15, 2025. Check-in and a warm-up are scheduled before the races.
Course and awards
The 5K begins and finishes at the Indian Mills Memorial School parking lot and follows local roads including Old Indian Mills Road, Grassy Lake, Stokes Road, and Oakshade. The 5K will use electronic chip timing with a combined start and finish. Age-group finisher medals will be awarded for men and women in these groups: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Live online race results will be provided.
The 1 Mile event uses the school property circular driveway; participants complete five laps, collect a marker for each lap, and turn the markers in to receive a medal. All 1 Mile participants receive a participation medal. Thanksgiving pies will be awarded to the first male and first female finishers in each event. Net proceeds support Girl Scout take action projects in Shamong. The event is sponsored by Spirit of Shamong in collaboration with Girl Scout Troop 24713.
