4th Annual Shamong Turkey Trot
The 4th Annual Shamong Turkey Trot takes place Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Indian Mills Memorial School, 295 Indian Mills Road, Shamong, NJ. The event features a chip timed 5K and a one mile fun run or walk on school property and surrounding local roads.

- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk five laps on the school circular driveway
The 5K begins and ends in the Indian Mills Memorial School parking lot and follows a course that includes Old Indian Mills Road, Grassy Lake, Stokes Road, and Oakshade before returning to the school. The 5K uses combined start and finish lines. Finisher medals for men and women will be awarded in age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Live online race results will be available. Thanksgiving pies will be awarded to the first male and first female overall finishers.
The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is run on the school circular driveway. Participants complete five laps, collect a popsicle stick for each lap, and exchange sticks for a medal. All 1 Mile participants receive a participation medal. Children age 3 and under are free. Entry fees listed for the events are $25 for the 5K and $15 for the 1 Mile.
The event is sponsored by Spirit of Shamong in collaboration with Girl Scout Troop 24713. Net proceeds support Girl Scout take action projects in Shamong. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
