Crooked Loops Trail Run
The Crooked Loops Trail Run is scheduled for Saturday October 10, 2026 at Independence Oaks in Clarkston, Michigan. The event base is at 9501 Sashabaw Rd, Clarkston, MI 48348. The races begin and end at the same location within the park.
October is described as the peak of fall colors at Independence Oaks. The routes pass through hardwood forests and use wood chip trails, offering woodland scenery and lake views along the way. Terrain includes rolling hills around Crooked Lake and additional trail sections on named park paths.
Three distances are available:
- 2.5 miles single circuit around Crooked Lake with rolling hills
- 5.5 miles second lap around the lake then onto Rock Ridge Trail
- 8.5 miles third lap and extension onto Spring Lake Trail
The event description notes that the longest distance includes multiple laps and extends onto additional trails beyond the lake loop. Course features therefore vary by distance, with repeated circuits around Crooked Lake and connections to Rock Ridge Trail and Spring Lake Trail for the longer routes.
