Run Elf Run!
Run Elf Run is a community run/walk in downtown Pontiac, Michigan, held along the Holiday Extravaganza parade route. The event center is at 1 S. Saginaw St., with the start line at the corner of Saginaw and Pike and packet pick-up inside the 7 North building at 7 N. Saginaw St.

The 5K is a chip-timed out-and-back road race that follows the parade route prior to the parade. The route is closed to traffic by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, is marked with orange cones, and includes one water station. 5K registration opens May 15, 2026 and closes October 22, 2026; the listed registration fee is $30.00.
Registered 5K participants receive a finisher's medal, a Run Elf Run long sleeve T-shirt, a race bib, and finish line refreshments. Post-race beer and a pretzel are available at The Fillmore 13 Brewery; ID is required to claim beer and a soft drink may be substituted. Overall male and female winners receive a certificate for a pair of running shoes (up to $180) from Runnin' Gear; overall and age group winners receive Run Elf Run candy cane trophy replicas, and age groups are in 10-year increments.
The Santa Kids' Run is a non-timed quarter mile for parents and children. Registered children receive a distinct medal, a Scholastic children's book, and a sweet treat or ice cream courtesy of Mikey's Ice Cream and Candy. The WinterFUN Festival takes place nearby at Saginaw and Huron Street with activities for children before the parade. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
