Run Elf Run
Run Elf Run takes place in downtown Pontiac, Michigan on December 5, 2026 as part of the Holiday Extravaganza parade day.
- 3.1 Miles (5K) chip-timed out-and-back road race
- 0.25 Miles non-timed quarter mile kids run/walk for parents and children
The 5K follows the parade route, is closed to traffic by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, and is marked with orange cones. The course has one water station. 5K participants receive a finisher's medal, a Run Elf Run long sleeve T-shirt, a race bib, and finish line refreshments. Overall male and female winners receive a certificate toward a pair of running shoes (up to $180). First through third overall and age-group winners receive replica candy cane trophies; the trophies are not for consumption. Post-race beer and a pretzel are available at The Fillmore 13 Brewery; ID is required to claim alcoholic beverages and a soft drink may be claimed instead.
The children's 0.25 mile run is non-timed and intended for parents and children to enjoy together. Registered children receive a medal different from the 5K medal, a Scholastic children's book, and a sweet treat when they finish.
The start line is at the corner of Saginaw and Pike in downtown Pontiac. Packet pickup is inside the 7 North building at 7 N. Saginaw St., located between The Fillmore 13 Brewery and Kegger Burger.
