Crackpots Trail Run 2026
Crackpots Trail Run takes place in Kirkby Malzeard near Ripon in North Yorkshire on 7 June 2026. The event returns for its fourth year and uses a mix of quiet country roads, off road trails, scenic moorland and several river crossings within the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The course is undulating and covers 11 kilometres in a single lap.
The route is fully marshaled and waymarked with flags approximately every 100 metres. There are five water crossings and distance markers along the course. The event is plastic bottle free and participants are asked to use a personal cup at water stations. Facilities at Race HQ, Highside Playing Fields, include toilets, changing rooms, showers, baggage storage and free parking close to the start area. Chip timing is used and a free cup of tea and a pie are provided at the finish. Entry is limited to 300 places.
The run is part of the Kirkby Malzeard Family Fete, which includes street food, a real ale bar, live music and an artisan market. The event received a Racecheck Gold Award and holds a Racecheck rating of 4.94 out of 5 for marshals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
