Jolly Holly Jog 2026
The Jolly Holly Jog takes place on Monday 28 December 2026 in Ripon, North Yorkshire. The event follows a scenic, multi-terrain course of approximately 10 km on an undulating route mainly using footpaths through parkland and woods. The course starts on Hell Wath Nature Reserve, continues up Whitcliffe Lane and along public footpaths through Mackershaw Woods and Studley Deer Park, passes a memorial bench, crosses out through Studley main gate and climbs Plumpton Lane, then returns via a short steep section in Mackershaw Woods before finishing on the field at Hell Wath.
The route is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams or pushchairs. A route map will be displayed at Race HQ on the day. Race HQ is at Panthers Football Club, Hell Wath, Ripon HG4 2JT, where portable toilets and a drop-off point will be provided near the start and finish. Facilities include water, distance markers and toilets; there are no changing rooms, showers or baggage storage. Mobile refreshments will be available near the start and finish.
Entry is limited to 1000 places. Early bird pricing holds the first 400 places at 2025 prices; subsequent prices are listed as higher rates. Entry on the day is not available. Prizes are awarded for first to third male and female finishers, age-grade winners and a memorial trophy for the first locally based club runner. The event supports a local food bank and lists requested donations such as tinned goods, cereals, tea and coffee, and toiletries. Minimum age is 15 and dogs are not permitted.
