Jolly Holly Jog 2026
The Jolly Holly Jog takes place in Ripon, North Yorkshire on Monday 28 December 2026. Organised by Ripon Runners, the event is a single lap of approximately 10 kilometres on a multi terrain, undulating course mainly using footpaths through parkland.
The route starts at Hell Wath Nature Reserve and continues up Whitcliffe Lane onto public footpaths through Mackershaw Woods and Studley Deer Park, passing Monty’s bench. It then leaves Studley via the main gate, turns right onto Plumpton Lane and returns via a short steep climb in Mackershaw Woods, across to Whitcliffe Lane and back toward Hell Wath before emerging onto the finish field. A route map will be displayed at Race HQ.
Race HQ is Panthers Football Club, Hell Wath Playing Fields HG4 2JT. Facilities at the start and finish include water, distance markers and portable toilets. There are no changing facilities, showers or baggage storage. Mobile refreshments will serve hot drinks, sandwiches and cakes. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams or pushchairs, and dogs are not permitted. Minimum age is 15.
Entry is limited to 1000 places. Published entry fees include affiliated £17.50 and unaffiliated £19.50 with a T shirt; early bird pricing applies to the first 400 places and prices increase thereafter. The event supports a local food bank with a drop off point at Race HQ. Prizes are awarded for 1st to 3rd male and female and age grade winners, plus the Shaun Lee Johnstone Trophy for the first locally based club runner.
