Cowtown C.A.L.F. Race in Fort Worth
The Cowtown C.A.L.F. Race is a youth-focused road race held as part of the Cowtown Marathon weekend. The 16th annual event is scheduled for October 3, 2026, with the start and finish at Fort Worth City Hall, 100 Fort Worth Trl., Fort Worth, Texas 76102. The race program offers three distances:
- 1 mile
- 5K
- 10K
The C.A.L.F. Program began in 2009 and includes school visits across North Texas. Staff and volunteers visit approximately 400 schools each year to teach running technique and basic fitness topics such as resting heart rate, hydration, nutrition, and active living. The event attracts many children and families, and some participants run with their school teams.
Participants receive event apparel and finishers items. One-mile participants receive finisher swag; 5K and 10K finishers receive medals. Additional event features listed include a pancake breakfast included with registration, face painting for children, a DJ, entertainment along the route, runner food, and a post-race Reunite after-party with a live band and activities.
Packet pick-up is available at The Cowtown Office on October 1 and October 2, and at City Hall on race day. Proceeds support the C.A.L.F. Program, which provides running shoes and fitness training to low-income children. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
