The C.A.L.F. Program was created in 2009 to introduce children to running and fitness. Staff and volunteers visit approximately 400 schools across North Texas annually to teach running techniques and to provide education on resting heart rate, hydration, nutrition, and active living. Proceeds benefit the C.A.L.F. Program and support providing low-income children with a free pair of running shoes and fitness training.
Finish-line amenities include finisher swag for the one-mile, custom medals for the 5K and 10K, a pancake breakfast included with registration, face painting for children, and a DJ. The event typically features many children and families and includes school teams.
Packet pick-up is listed for October 1 and October 2 at the Cowtown Office located at 3584 S. Hills Ave., Suite 21, Fort Worth, Texas 76109, with additional pick-up available at City Hall on the event day. Age-division awards are offered for both youth and adult categories with youth divisions awarded five deep and adult divisions awarded three deep.
