The 2026 Cowtown C.A.L.F. Race
The Cowtown C.A.L.F. Race takes place in Fort Worth on October 3, 2026, with the start and finish at Fort Worth City Hall and portions on the Fort Worth Trail. The event offers three distances and includes packet pick-up on preceding days at the Cowtown Office and on the event day at City Hall.
Distances:
- 1 Mile
- 5K
- 10K
Participants in the one-mile receive finisher’s swag. Custom high-quality medals are awarded for 5K and 10K finishers. The event also provides a pancake breakfast included with registration, children's face painting, and a DJ playing music.
The Cowtown C.A.L.F. Program was created in 2009 to introduce children to running and fitness. Staff and volunteers visit about 400 schools across North Texas annually to teach running technique, resting heart rate, hydration, nutrition, and active living. Proceeds from the race support the C.A.L.F. Program; the program supplies low-income children with a free pair of running shoes and fitness training.
Age-division awards are offered for 5K and 10K fields. Youth divisions (ages 0-8 through 15-17) receive medals awarded five deep; adult divisions (ages 18-24 and up) receive medals awarded three deep, separated by male and female categories.
