Pinnacle Bank and VFW Run For The V
This event is a community 5K and related races held at VFW Post 10429 in Benbrook, TX on Sunday, September 20, 2026. The effort aims to raise awareness for suicide prevention, with proceeds benefiting nonprofit organizations that provide services to veterans and first responders.
Available race options include:
- 5K Run, Ruck, or Walk
- Virtual 5K
- Special Needs 1K (free)
- Kids 1K Fun Run (free on race day)
Registration for 5K entries includes one T-shirt. Additional shirts can be pre-purchased for $10 for Small through XL sizes and $12 for larger sizes; race day shirt prices are higher. T-shirt size and availability are not guaranteed for registrations after September 7.
Packet pickup is offered at Pinnacle Bank on September 18 and at the race site on race day; there is no Saturday pickup. Participants who register after the Friday packet pickup cutoff on September 18 can only pick up packets on race day.
The 5K course starts and finishes at VFW Post 10429, crosses Stevens Drive to Lakeview Drive, enters the Benbrook Lake Park entrance, follows the park route to a marked halfway turnaround, and returns to the finish for a total of 3.1 miles. A water station and restrooms are available at the one mile marker.
Awards are provided across multiple categories for runners, walkers, ruck competitors, and the Special Needs 1K, and participants are eligible for a raffle with multiple prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
