Event overview
The Countdown to One! takes place on April 11, 2026 in Syracuse, NY at 371 Long Branch Rd., 13209. The event uses a single 1 mile loop with the same start and finish location for each mile. All participants receive a finisher medal and a category pin (Bronze, Silver, Gold) based on the last mile they complete.
Format, rules and prizes
Participants run repeated single-mile legs with specific time requirements for each mile. Bronze category miles require: first mile 15 minutes or under, second 13 minutes or under, third 11 minutes or under, fourth 10 minutes or under. Silver requires 9 1/2, 9, 8 1/2 and 8 minute miles. Gold requires 7 1/2, 7, 6 1/2 and 6 minute miles. If needed to determine the last person standing, each subsequent mile time requirement will drop by 30 seconds. There is a one minute separation between each timed leg. If a participant fails to complete a mile within the allotted time, they are removed from the competition. Cash prizes of $125 are awarded to the top male and top female finishers. A post-race celebration with food and drink is provided.
