The Cotswold Way Century is a single-stage trail running event covering approximately 102 miles. The course follows the Cotswold Way National Trail, beginning at Chipping Campden and concluding in the city of Bath. Participants navigate the route primarily by following existing National Trail markers, though additional signage may be present near checkpoints.

The terrain consists of a variety of surfaces, including green paths, stone tracks, road sections, and ploughed fields. The course features significant elevation changes as it moves between viewpoints on high ground and villages in the valleys. The event takes place on public rights of way, and participants must follow standard road regulations on segments that are not on trails.

Participants are required to complete the distance within a 32-hour time limit. There are intermediate cut-off points located along the course that must be met to continue the race. The event is open to individuals aged 21 and older.
