Alderton 5k Run
The Alderton 5k Run takes place on 05 Sep 2026 and is the event's 15th year. It is a 5 km road race in Alderton, Gloucestershire. All proceeds go to Alderton Acorns Pre-School and Toddlers.
The course is an out-and-back on closed, quiet country lanes. The route passes the hamlet of Great Washbourne, turns just before the A46 at Beckford and returns along Beckford Road into Alderton Playing Field, where runners complete a short lap of the football pitch and finish near the penalty spot. The course is described as fairly flat. Distance markers appear at each kilometre and water is provided at the start, the turn (around 2.5 km) and the finish.
Race headquarters are on Alderton Playing Field, Beckford Road, GL20 8NL. Race numbers are available from Race HQ from 09.30 until 10.50; runners need only bring their name, and should complete emergency contact and health details on the rear of their number. Parking is signposted next to the playing field from 09.30 and toilets are in the sports pavilion. Provisional times are available immediately after the finish and final times are published soon after on Facebook and the event website.
Under 16s, dogs, pushchairs and escorted runners are welcome. Children under 10 should be accompanied by an adult. A bag storage service is provided with no liability for loss or damage. A no-questions-asked refund policy applies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
