Alderton 5k Run
The Alderton 5k Run takes place on 5 September 2026 at Alderton Playing Field, Alderton GL20 8NL. The event is a 5 kilometre road race held on quiet country lanes in and around Alderton. The course is an out and back route that passes the hamlet of Great Washbourne and turns shortly before the A46 at Beckford. The route is described as fairly flat.
All entry fees are donated to Alderton Acorns Pre-School and Toddlers; 100% of entry fees go to the charity, registered number 1052664. The event reports having raised over £20,000 for Alderton Acorns to date. Race numbers are collected at Alderton Playing Field and parking is signposted next to the playing fields; marshalls provide direction on the day.
Entry pricing is listed as early bird rates until 1 June 2026 (Adults £10, Juniors under 16 £2.50) and standard rates after 1 June 2026 (Adults £15, Juniors £5). A Couch to 5K or first 5 km run entry is offered free. Platform fees apply for online booking through Eventbrite or Entry Central. A no-questions-asked refund policy is available.
The event includes finish-line photos and a finishers' medal. Post-race sports massage is available in exchange for donations to Alderton Acorns.
