About the race
The Alderton 5k Run is in its 15th year and takes place on Saturday 5 September 2026 in Alderton, Gloucestershire. It is a 5 km road race that donates 100% of entry fees to Alderton Acorns Pre‑School, a registered charity (No 1052664).
The course is an out and back route on closed roads along quiet country lanes from Alderton past the hamlet of Great Washbourne, turning just before the A46 at Beckford. The course is described as fairly flat and suitable for aiming at a good 5 km time. Race numbers are collected at Alderton Playing Field, GL20 8NL. Parking is next to the playing fields and is signposted; marshalls may provide direction on the day.
Entry pricing includes an early bird period until 1 June 2026 and standard entry thereafter. Early bird fees: adults £10, juniors under 16 £2.50. Standard fees after 1 June: adults £15, juniors under 16 £5. A Couch to 5 km or a first 5 km run is available free on request. Entry is handled online via Eventbrite or Entry Central; the event passes platform fees to entrants. Eventbrite fees are 6.95% plus 59p per entry. Entry Central fees are 4% with a minimum of 50p per entry. Example final costs for a full price adult entry are given in the event information.
Under 16s, dogs, pushchairs and escorted runners are welcome. A no questions asked refund policy applies. On the day there are refreshments, post race sports massage in exchange for donations, and activities provided by Alderton Acorns for children.
