Alderton 5k Run
The Alderton 5k Run takes place on 05 Sep 2026 in Alderton, Gloucestershire. The event is in its 15th year and donates all proceeds to Alderton Acorns Pre-School and Toddlers. The course is an out-and-back route on closed country lanes, passing the hamlet of Great Washbourne and turning before the A46 at Beckford. The route is described as fairly flat and has distance markers at each kilometre.
Race headquarters are on Alderton Playing Field, Beckford Road, GL20 8NL. Race numbers are issued at Race HQ between 09.30 and 10.50; entrants should complete emergency contact and health information on the reverse of their number. Parking is available from 09.30 next to the playing field and is signposted. Toilets are in the sports pavilion next to Race HQ. Water is provided at the start, at the turn (about 2.5 km) and at the finish. Finish-line photos and a free medal are provided at the finish on Alderton Playing Field.
The event welcomes under 16s, dogs, pushchairs and escorted runners; children under 10 should be accompanied by an adult. There is post-race massage, teas and cakes available from 09.30, and activities and a playground for non-running children. The organiser operates a no-questions-asked refund policy.
