Event Overview
The New Jersey 5k is a Corporate FunRun event scheduled for a Tuesday evening in September at the South Mountain Recreation Complex in West Orange, NJ. The venue is Turtle Back Zoo.
Event Schedule
Pre-race activities, including team packet pickup and company gathering, occur before the run/walk. The post-race party and awards ceremony follow the event. The awards include categories for largest team, best team t-shirt, and fastest teams/individuals.
Race Details
The event features a 5k distance for running or walking. The course consists of two loops around a reservoir located behind Turtle Back Zoo. The start line is approximately 300 yards from the Zoo, with the finish line in front of the Zoo's back entrance.
Venue and Facilities
All pre- and post-race activities take place at a public pavilion within the Turtle Back Zoo picnic area. This area provides picnic and banquet table seating. Parking is available in two large Zoo parking lots accessible from Northfield Avenue.
Post-Race Party
The post-race party in the picnic area includes complimentary beer, wine, pizza, ziti, and other food. Music is provided by a DJ for the duration of the event, and a photographer takes team and event photos.
Registration
