Livingston Oval Ultra
The Livingston Oval Ultra is a loop-based timed running event held at the Oval on Robert Harp Drive in Livingston, NJ. In its fourth year, the event asks how many laps each runner can complete within fixed time limits on the certified road circuit.
Distances and formats include:
- 12 hours
- 6 hours
- 3 hours
- 1 hour
The course is USATF certified as of Aug 1, 2023, and is described as fast and flat. The event has hosted a Canadian national record in 2026; athletes planning record attempts should notify organizers in advance for certification. Aid station offerings include typical ultra fare plus additional items from sponsors, and athletes are never more than half a mile from help. Race bibs must be worn on the front.
Top three male and female finishers in each race receive a custom wall plaque. Participants receive a running-style ball cap or a winter knit hat; a discount code NOSWAG or a $20 discount is available for those who decline the hat. Field logistics allow marked 12 by 12 foot spaces for tents, chairs, and coolers; athletes are responsible for cleaning their areas. The event was approved by the Livingston Town Council in June 2023. Registration closes on Mon, Mar 1. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
