The NYCRUNS Frozen Bonsai is a road running event on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY. The event distance is 5K. The course is just under one full loop of Prospect Park and finishes with a straight run up Center Drive. The course is USATF certified.
Start corrals use a pace-based system with letters AA through F and are located on Well House Drive. The Festival Area is in the Nethermead and can be reached via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. Bibs are available for pick up in the Festival Area on race day; mailing of bibs is available for registrants who request it at least 20 days before the event and have a U.S. mailing address.
Logistics and policies
On-site amenities include bag check (one clear bag required, provided if needed, maximum clear bag size 18" x 24"), portable bathrooms, water and electrolyte fluids on course, and electrolyte drinks and canned smartwater at the finish. Post-race refreshments include bagels and fresh fruit. Race swag includes a tech shirt and a finisher medal; shirts are distributed on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. Race photos are provided by MarathonFoto and are claimable by email after the event.
Results will be emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall (by gun time) and to the top three in each age group by net/chip time (age groups from 9 and under to 70 and over). Transit access includes the Prospect Park and 15th St-Prospect Park subway stations (S, Q, F, G), nearby bus stops (B68, B16), and Citi Bike stations. The event has a no-refunds, no-transfers policy; NYCRUNS members may withdraw for race credit. Strollers and dogs are not allowed. Time limits are enforced on course.
