Jersey Capital 5k
The Jersey Capital 5k is a corporate fitness event held at the Mercer County Park West Picnic Area in West Windsor, New Jersey. This event provides an opportunity for companies and teams to gather for a mid-week run and social gathering. The staging area for pre-race activities and the post-race celebration is located adjacent to the park pavilion.
The race follows a specific route through the park grounds:
- 5 km out and back course on paved bike and running paths.
Participants travel past local landmarks including the Marina, boathouse, ice rink, and tennis courts. The course begins and finishes at the West Picnic Area. Parking is available at the venue, utilizing both designated spots and grass sections adjoining the main lot, with additional overflow parking located across the street.
The event features a post-race gathering where pizza and beer are provided for participants. Companies have the option to organize their own catered picnics, with banquet and picnic table seating provided for entire teams. Throughout the evening, a D.J. provides music and a photographer captures team and individual photos. Awards are presented for various categories, including the largest team, the team with the best t-shirt design, and the fastest runners.
