About the race
The Coronado Turkey Trot is the 13th annual community run presented by the Coronado Unit of the Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary, held on November 26, 2026 at Tidelands Park in Coronado, California. The in-person 5K follows a scenic out-and-back route along San Diego Bay and accepts both runners and walkers.
There are three participation options: 5K (3.1 miles) with event shirt and finisher medal for paid 5K entries, a Virtual 5K (3.1 miles) with race items mailed to the registrant, and a free Tiny Trotters Fun Run for children 5 and under (no shirt or finisher medal included). Age-based pricing for participants 15 and under is applied automatically when the birth date is entered at registration. Registration opens September 9, 2026; the 5K registration closes September 28, 2026, the virtual 5K registration closes November 23, 2026, and Tiny Trotters registration remains open through race day. Fee examples from the organizer are $49.00 for the 5K, $59.00 for the virtual 5K, and $0.00 for Tiny Trotters.
All net proceeds benefit the Division of Endocrinology/Diabetes at Rady Children’s Hospital to support children and families affected by Type 1 Diabetes. Packet pick-up will be offered before race day at locations to be announced and on race day at Tidelands Park. Walk-up registration may be available if the event is not sold out. For packet pick-up, a photo ID is required to pick up for another person; photos of ID on phones are accepted. For safety, only children under 6 may bring scooters; bikes and pets are not allowed.
