The 25th Annual Run for Hope Thanksgiving Day 5K takes place on Thursday, November 26, 2026, in Balboa Park at 1549 El Prado, San Diego, CA. The event brings together runners, walkers, trotters, and strollers and includes both in-person and remote participation options.
Participants can choose among a timed 5K with chip timing, live results, and age group awards; an untimed fun 5K; a virtual at-home option for remote participation; and a free entry category for children 5 and under. The event is presented by Aya Healthcare and benefits Father Joe's Villages Food Services Program, which provided meals to neighbors experiencing homelessness in 2025.
Registered participants receive a commemorative race t-shirt and a keepsake finisher medal and have access to free race photos. Timed racers receive chip timing and live results; age group awards apply to timed entrants. The race day program includes a festival with local vendors, characters, live music, and a beverage garden. Event resources include interactive course maps, road closure and parking information, packet pick-up details, and opportunities to volunteer, sponsor, or become a vendor.
