9th Annual Coon Hill Day 5K Run/Walk

The 9th Annual Coon Hill Day 5K Run/Walk takes place in northern Santa Rosa County, Florida, situated south of Jay and north of Chumuckla in the New York Community. The event features an out-and-back course that begins and ends at the Coon Hill Cemetery on Mineral Springs Road.

The course primarily consists of packed red dirt roads with some small sections of gravel and minimal sand. The terrain is flat, extending from Coon Hill to Mineral Springs and back. Participants have access to water and aid stations along the route, and portable restrooms are provided at the start and finish area.

The event offers the following distances:

  • 5 km (Running)
  • 5 km (Walking)
  • 1/2 mile (Fun Run)

Registration is divided into age groups ranging from 10 and under to 75 and up. Awards include rustic, wildlife-themed trophies for overall winners in 10 categories and the top three finishers in each age group. All participants in the 1/2 mile Fun Run receive a participation award, with top finishers in that distance receiving wildlife trophies.

Packet pick-up is available locally the day before the event or at the race site on the morning of the activity. The event is organized by Dobson Road Races, and results are published on the Living With Purpose and Coon Hill Day 5K digital platforms.
