Cookson 10k
The Cookson 10k is a road running event organized by North Shields Poly, taking place in Monkseaton, Whitley Bay. The race is conducted on a 10 km course that consists of two laps. The route is described as flat and starts and ends at Monkseaton High School, which serves as the race headquarters.
Participants follow a road course that is chip-timed. The event infrastructure includes distance markers, water stations, toilets, and baggage storage. There are no changing or shower facilities available on-site. The entry limit for the race is set at 550 participants, and registration is open to both affiliated and unaffiliated runners. Entry on the day of the event is not permitted.
The event features a themed commemorative t-shirt for participants. Refreshments provided at the venue include tea, coffee, cakes, cookies, and flapjacks. While name changes for entries are permitted through the registration system until late April, the t-shirt sizes are finalized based on the data available at the start of April.
