Cookson 10k 2026
The Cookson 10k is a road running event organized by North Shields Poly, taking place in Monkseaton, Whitley Bay. The event features a single distance:

The course consists of a two-lap route that is described as flat and fast. Participants begin and end the race at Monkseaton High School, which serves as the race headquarters. The event has an entry limit of 550 participants and is not suitable for wheelchair users.
The race utilizes chip timing to record participant results. On-course and post-race amenities include water stations, distance markers along the route, and a variety of refreshments such as cakes, cookies, flapjacks, tea, and coffee. Each participant receives a themed race t-shirt.
On-site facilities at the race headquarters include toilets and a baggage store. There are no changing facilities or showers available at the venue. Participants can modify their entry details or transfer names until late April, after which numbers are printed for postage. Entry fees are set at a fixed rate for affiliated and unaffiliated runners, and registration must be completed in advance as there is no entry available on the day.
