Event overview
The Cookie Classic Run is the 12th annual running event held on January 17, 2026, in Chesapeake, Virginia. The in-person location is the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail start (use 1246 Dismal Swamp Canal Trail), at the Chessie the Bear statue. All in-person courses are out-and-back on flat asphalt along the trail. The event includes an in-person festival and finisher activities.

Features for participants include T-shirts, goodie bags, finisher gifts, and chipped timing for in-person entries. In-person 5K and 10K finishers receive a medal and age and gender place awards; 1 mile finishers receive an event patch. Professional race photographs will be available as digital images free of charge for the in-person event. Virtual 5K entrants receive mailed finisher gifts, a medal, T-shirt, and race bib but will not receive a box of cookies.
Registration deadlines affect guarantees: choice of a full-sized box of cookies is guaranteed only for registrations completed by 10/15/2025; T-shirt size and name on the back of the shirt are guaranteed for registrations completed by 11/1/2025. The event is part of the Conquering the Cookie series, which offers a special pin for participants who complete both series events in person.
