Cookie Classic Run - January 17, 2026
The Cookie Classic Run is the 12th annual event hosted in Chesapeake, Virginia. The event is organized as a family-friendly run, walk, and jog event tied to the Girl Scout cookie season. All in-person distances are out-and-back on flat asphalt along the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail. The event uses chipped timing and offers professional race photography with digital images available free of charge.

Included items and awards
Registrations completed by specified deadlines guarantee certain items: a choice of a full-sized box of Girl Scout cookies if finished and registered by 10/15/2025, and guaranteed T-shirt size and name on the shirt back if registered by 11/1/2025. Registered finishers receive T-shirts, goodie bags, and finisher gifts. Registered 1 mile finishers receive an event patch. Registered 5K and 10K finishers receive medals and age/gender place awards. Virtual 5K registrants receive a mailed finisher kit (medal, T-shirt, race bib, and finisher gifts) but not a box of cookies.
Location and access
The in-person start is at the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail start in Chesapeake, VA, at 1246 Dismal Swamp Canal Trail, by the "Chessie the Bear" statue. Most map apps direct to the Ballahack Boat Ramp; that entrance is not the event location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
