Event Format
The event is a Last Beast Standing format race. Competitors must consecutively run a loop of 6.706 km (4.167 miles) in less than one hour. The pace required equates to 100 miles per 24 hours. The race continues until only one runner remains to complete a lap. That runner is declared the winner and sole finisher; all other participants receive a "DNF" (Did Not Finish).
Course
The course is a single 4.167-mile loop around Kramper Reservoir within the Danish Alps State Recreation Area. The terrain consists of crushed limestone. The reservoir is encircled by separate trails for hiking/biking and horseback riding.
Location & Amenities
The race takes place at Danish Alps State Recreation Area in Hubbard, Nebraska. The 219-acre lake is surrounded by 520 acres of parkland. Crew stations are permitted only at the Start/Finish area in Day Use Area 2; no crewing is allowed elsewhere on the course.
Food will be available throughout the event, including chips, cookies, nuts, boiled potatoes, candy, fruit, vegetables, grilled cheese made to order, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches/wraps, hummus, and pickles. Tailwind sports drink is the provided electrolyte, with water, coffee, and pickle juice also available. All hot meals have a vegan/vegetarian option.
Lodging
The park offers campsites: Electric Plus, Basic, and Equestrian Electric Plus. There are 34 gravel pads with electrical hookups, two ADA-cement pads, seven gravel pull-through pads, and one ADA cement pull-through pad. There are also 22 Basic camping sites. Campers have access to water, modern restrooms, and showers. During peak season (April 15 to October 15), half the campsites can be reserved up to 180 days in advance; all other camping is first-come, first-served via self-service fee envelopes.
Registration Benefits
