No Shame Shindig : June 12, 2027
No Shame Shindig is a multi-distance trail event held at Willow Creek State Recreation Area near Pierce, Nebraska. The event uses a 10 mile loop on the Limestone Hike/Bike Trail and for 2027 the course will be run in reverse. The Start/Finish and main aid station are located at the Warren G. Otto Picnic Area boat launch. A secondary unmanned aid station is placed approximately halfway and will be stocked with water, ice, Tailwind Sports Drink, and a variety of snacks.
Willow Creek State Recreation Area sits on the 700-acre Willow Creek Reservoir and is managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The park is about 4 miles southwest of Pierce and approximately 15 miles northwest of Norfolk. Campground options include sites with electric hookups, basic sites, and equestrian sites. About half of campsites take reservations; the remainder are first-come, first-served and use iron ranger self-registration with check or cash.
Awards are presented to the top male and top female finishers in each race category; there are no cash prizes. Race swag includes a Beast Trail Racing Speed Cup, a sun-proof long sleeve shirt, distance-specific medals, and race hats. Discounts are available for military, first responders, donors, and repeat entrants, with proof of eligibility required shortly after registration opens.
