No Shame Shindig
No Shame Shindig is a multi-distance trail event held at Willow Creek State Recreation Area near Pierce, Nebraska. Distances offered include:
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- Marathon
- 1/2 Marathon
The course is a 10 mile loop on the Limestone Hike/Bike Trail with the Start/Finish and main aid station at the Warren G. Otto Picnic Area boat launch. For 2027 the course will be run in reverse. There is an additional unmanned aid station approximately halfway that will be stocked with water, ice, Tailwind Sports Drink and a variety of snacks.
Willow Creek State Recreation Area sits on the 700 acre Willow Creek Reservoir, about four miles southwest of Pierce and roughly 15 miles northwest of Norfolk. The park offers campsites with several options including electric, basic, and equestrian sites, and Willow Way Campground provides many sites with electricity along with restrooms, showers, laundry, drinking water, picnic tables, fire rings, and a dump and fill station.
Race-day food options include chips, cookies, nuts, fresh fruit and vegetables, grilled cheese made to order, peanut butter and jelly, hummus, pickles, and a selection of beverages such as water, coffee, Tailwind Sports Drink and pickle juice. Ice will be available throughout the event.
Awards are given to the top male and female finishers in each race category; winners receive a custom award plaque and there are no cash prizes. Event swag includes a Beast Trail Racing Speed Cup, a sun-proof long sleeve shirt, distance-specific medals and race hats. Registration opens November 1, 2026.
