No Bull Around It : April 24 to April 26, 2026, Willow Creek State Recreation Area
No Bull Around It is an endurance running event held at Willow Creek State Recreation Area near Pierce, Nebraska. The event uses a limestone hike and bike trail with a lap described as 2 miles out and back, totaling about 4 miles per loop. The start and finish are located at the Warren G. Otto Picnic area and the turnaround is at the Willow Creek State Park campground, where self-crewing is possible.
The event offers multiple time formats:
- 48 hours
- 24 hours
- 12 hours
- 6 hours
- 3 hours
Pacer policies vary by format: 48 and 24 hour entrants may use pacers after 12 hours, 12 hour entrants may use pacers after 8 hours, and 6 hour and 3 hour entrants may not use pacers.
Awards and participant items are provided. Awards include a custom plaque for the top male and female in each category with no cash prizes. Swag includes a Beast Trail Racing speed cup, sunproof long sleeves, distance specific medals and buckles, and backpacks. Medals are available for half marathon and marathon distances. Buckles are available at set milestones including 50k, 50 miles, 100k, 100 miles, and 150 miles, with a custom named buckle for 200 miles.
On course provisions include an unmanned aid station about halfway with water, ice, sports drink and snacks. Race day food offerings include chips, cookies, boiled potatoes, fruits, vegetables, grilled cheese made to order, peanut butter and jelly, hummus, pickles, and a variety of hot meals with vegan and vegetarian options. Packaged sports drink and basic beverages will be available.
Willow Creek SRA camping options include Electric Plus, Electric, Basic, Equestrian Electric Plus and Equestrian Basic. Willow Way Campground lists about 165 campsites with electricity and additional basic sites. Amenities noted include picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water, modern restrooms, showers, laundry, and a dump and fill station located in the town of Pierce.
