Community Hike & Trail Run Series (2026)
This is a recurring monthly outdoor meet that combines a community hike with an optional trail run. The series is organized by FIERCE Advocates with Moving Forward and Richmond Run Club and takes place in Richmond, California at 5551 Giant Highway.
Meetups occur on first Saturdays in 2026: March 7, April 4, May 2, June 6, July 4, August 1, September 5, October 3, and November 7. Typical sessions are listed with a 3 hours duration and are open to all ages. The event is in person and includes free parking.
The group begins together with a brief welcome and safety notes. Participants choose between two pacing options: a community hike at a conversational pace with regroup points and an option trail run at a faster pace covering more miles; the trail run follows a self paced route plan. The session finishes as a community.
Organizers share logistical details before each date, including trailhead and parking information, route distance and elevation, and recommended gear. Suggested items to bring include water, sturdy shoes, layers, sun protection, and optional snacks or trekking poles. Routes may change for weather or trail conditions. Participants are expected to move within their own limits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
