The Colonial Beach Triathlon takes place in Colonial Beach, VA (30 Colonial Ave) on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The event is USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned. Multiple race formats are offered, including individual and relay options. Most events are open to athletes aged 12 and older.

- 1.5 km swim, 26 mi bike, 10 km run - Olympic Triathlon (individual)
- 1.5 km swim, 26 mi bike - Olympic Aquabike (individual)
- Olympic Triathlon Relay - team of 2 or 3 people
- 750 m swim, 14 mi bike, 5 km run - Sprint Triathlon (individual)
- 750 m swim, 14 mi bike - Sprint Aquabike (individual)
- Sprint Triathlon Relay - team of 2 or 3 people
Course and race format
The swim occurs in the Potomac River. The bike course runs on well paved roads with seaside and farmland views. The run is a flat, paved waterfront course. Kinetic Multisports uses a time trial swim start, sending two athletes every few seconds; an Elite Box Start is available for athletes lining up at the front.
Registration and included items
Registration includes a finisher medal, long-sleeved tech shirt, custom race socks, reusable packet bag, timed results, age group awards, post-race meal, finisher certificate, and free finish line photos.
