The Feral Mtn event in Ellijay, GA offers two distances:

  • 100M
  • 50M

This is the inaugural running organized by Coyote Ugly Racing. The 100-mile option is described as approximately 104 miles with about 21,000 feet of vertical gain and a 40-hour cutoff. The 50-mile option is described as about 10,000 feet of vertical gain with a 20-hour cutoff. Registration closes on Mon, Apr 20. The race route passes through three sections of national forest.

Course and aid stations

The course materials include an aid station matrix with mile locations and cumulative distances. Key aid station locations and cumulative mileage include Emery Creek (8.5 mi), Windy Gap (13.5 mi), Grassy Mountain (17.5 mi), Ball Field (23 mi and later 90 mi), Bear Creek Spur (29 mi and later 95 mi), Bear Creek Trailhead (35 mi and later 100 mi), P2/start/finish (40 mi), Cohutta Overlook (turnaround for the 50M at about 47 mi), Peeples Lake Road (around 54 mi and 70 mi), Dennis Mill (62 mi), and a finish sequence reaching roughly 105 miles on the full loop.
