Event overview
The Cochrane Wild Rose Indoor Spring Triathlon takes place on March 15, 2026 at the Spray Lake Sawmills Centre in Cochrane, Alberta. The event is organized by Wild Rose Women's Events and is described as open to participants with a range of experience, from first-time triathletes to experienced athletes. Participants register into heats and are sorted by pace within their chosen heat on the day of the event.
Format and logistics
The event is entirely indoors and follows a swim-bike-run sequence with set time limits. Distances are based on time rather than fixed lengths:
- 10 minutes swim in the pool
- 20 minutes bike on a stationary spin bike
- 15 minutes walk or run on the indoor track
Participants check in, receive body marking, and join a heat group led by a group leader. Swim lanes are organized with up to four swimmers per lane, counter-clockwise circulation, and lifeguards and swim marshals on deck. Passing is done by tapping toes and allowing passes at the end of the lane. A 15-minute transition is allotted from swim to bike and a shorter transition from bike to run. The bike portion is an instructor-led workout; seat setup assistance is available. At the finish, participants receive a finisher's bracelet or mala and a Jugo Juice. Spectators are welcome but space is limited; the swim viewing area is the main spectator spot. Recommended items include a towel (mandatory), goggles, provided swim cap, running shoes, and any necessary medications. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
