Powderface Mountain Marathon : event overview
The Powderface Mountain Marathon is a trail running event on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Station Flats, Kananaskis / Bragg Creek, Alberta. Distances include:
- 42.2 km full marathon - ~1286 m of elevation gain on singletrack in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies
- Half marathon distance option
There are 150 total spots. Registration opens October 21, 2025. Online registration closes at midnight on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, or when the registration cap is reached. The full marathon registration fee is listed as $149. A processing fee and 5% GST apply. No race day registration. Payments accepted by major credit cards; all funds are payable in Canadian dollars.
Course, gear and race logistics
The course uses K-Country singletrack and includes multiple aid stations. Aid stations will provide water, an electrolyte drink (Blonyx Hydra+), cola, fruit, pretzels, chips, and Xact Nutrition Fruit Bars. All runners must carry mandatory gear: Hydration Pack, Jacket, Gloves, and a BUFF to cover the ears. Optional items listed include hiking poles, bear spray, and trail shoes. Drop bags can be placed at aid stations if labeled with name and checkpoint. Washrooms are located in the start/finish parking lot. Parking at Station Flats is limited. Cut-off times apply at aid station 3 (23 km) and aid station 4 (32 km). All finishers receive a finisher’s medal; prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each gender for each distance.
