Cobscook Bay Road Races
The Cobscook Bay Road Races provide an opportunity to run or walk along the shores of the easternmost saltwater bay in the United States. Established in the early 1990s, this event supports Down East Hospice Volunteers and is organized by the Bold Coast Runners. The course consists of paved and gravel sections, starting near Route 1 in Pembroke and finishing at the Reversing Falls.
Participants can choose from several distance options and categories:
- 10k Run (USATF certified ME17004JK)
- 10k Walk
- 5k Run
- 5k Walk
- FREE Kids Fun Run (for ages 10 and under)
- Virtual Hospice Supporter 5k and 10k
In-person participants travel from the Pembroke Triangle to the finish line at Reversing Falls, where a picnic is held following the events. For those unable to attend on the specific race day, a "Run on Your Own" option allows participants to complete the course during a designated period and submit their times online. A completely virtual option is also available for those wishing to participate from any location.
The event features awards for the top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers in the 5k and 10k distances. Age group awards are also presented across various categories, ranging from 14 and under to 75 and older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
