Bay of Fundy International Marathon : Event overview
The Bay of Fundy International Marathon takes place on June 21, 2026 in Lubec, Maine and Campobello Island, New Brunswick. The event includes a marathon, a half marathon and a 10k. The marathon and half marathon cross the international border between the USA and Canada multiple times without runners stopping at the border, while the 10k remains entirely within the USA. Registration opens on November 1. Bib pick-up and on-site border clearances occur on the two days before the race. Runners must supply passport or travel document information in advance and be pre-cleared by both border agencies before collecting a bib. Runners not pre-cleared will not be allowed to collect a bib or run.
Courses, services and rules
- 42.2 km Marathon (26.2 miles) - crosses US/Canada; certified; 7 hour time limit
- 21.1 km Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - crosses US/Canada; includes 7.7 km dirt road; 4 hour time limit
- 10 km (6.2 miles) - point-to-point inside the USA; 2 hour time limit
The marathon course is certified by Athletics Canada and USATF and passes West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial Bridge, Roosevelt Campobello International Park and Head Harbor Light, finishing on Water Street in Lubec. Aid stations with water and electrolytes are provided about every 2 miles. Bus transportation to the start and finisher medals for all participants are provided.
