Event overview
The Bay of Fundy International Marathon returns on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The event takes place in Lubec, Maine, and Campobello, New Brunswick, and includes a marathon, a half marathon, and a 10k. The courses start at West Quoddy Lighthouse and finish along Water Street in Lubec. The route crosses the international border via the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial Bridge and passes through Roosevelt Campobello International Park and Head Harbor Light. Local border stations are open 24 hours a day. Accommodation options are available on both sides of the border and in nearby towns.
Courses and border clearances
- Marathon - time limit 7 hrs, certified course.
- Half Marathon - time limit 4 hrs, includes 4.8 miles (7.7 km) of dirt road.
- 10K - time limit 2 hrs, West Quoddy Lighthouse to Lubec.
The marathon and half marathon are certified by Athletics Canada and USATF. Aid stations with water and electrolytes are provided about every 2 miles on the marathon and half marathon. Bus transportation to the start is offered for all distances. Finisher medals are provided to all finishers. Runners in the marathon and half marathon must be pre-cleared by both Canadian and US border agencies before race day. Passport or travel document information must be supplied during registration and runners must visit border stations on the Friday or Saturday before the race to be checked off.
