Event overview
The Bay of Fundy International Marathon weekend takes place on June 21, 2026 in Lubec, Maine and Campobello Island, New Brunswick. The event offers three distances: a marathon, a half marathon, and a 10k. Registration opens on November 1 and closes May 31, 2026. Finisher medals are awarded to all finishers and bus transportation to the start is provided. The marathon course is certified by Athletics Canada and USATF. The marathon starts at West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, crosses the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial Bridge and Lubec Narrows, passes Roosevelt Campobello International Park, goes across Campobello Island to Head Harbor Light, and finishes on Water Street in Lubec. The half marathon follows a route that includes about 4.8 miles (7.7 km) of dirt road through Roosevelt Campobello International Park. The 10k is a point-to-point course from West Quoddy Head Lighthouse to downtown Lubec and does not cross the international border.
Runners in the marathon and half marathon cross the Canada-USA border multiple times. Those entrants must provide passport or travel document information in advance and be pre-cleared by both border agencies at on-site border clearances before the race. Bibs must be visible during the event, especially at border crossings. Course time limits and minimum paces apply for each distance.
