Coastrek Fleurieu Peninsula

Coastrek Fleurieu Peninsula is a team hiking event organised by Coastrek / Wild Women On Top that raises funds for Beyond Blue. The route runs on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, finishing in Port Elliot and following sections of the Heysen Trail around Encounter Bay and through Victor Harbor. Participants can choose between 20km and 35km routes, with the 35km route starting at Parsons Beach and the 20km route starting at Kings Beach. The event notes proximity to the McLaren Vale wine region.

Format, fundraising and inclusions

Teams consist of two or more people, and each participant is asked to pledge to raise AUD 500 for Beyond Blue. Checkpoints for toilets, water and snacks are provided at approximately every 15km. Estimated maximum durations are up to 6 hours for the 20km route and up to 12 hours for the 35km route. Entry fees are listed in a range from AUD 125 to AUD 172 and promotional discounts are sometimes offered. Standard entry includes a 12-week training program, Top Tips nights, planning resources, fundraising support and access to an event-specific online group. On event day, services include staffed refreshment stops, water, first aid, medals and finish-line recognition.
